Diamond rings are by far the vast majority of all wedding rings purchased as they are very valuable and nature's hardest substance. Tungsten, the hardest element on earth is extremely durable, and combined with the beauty and elegance of diamonds, equates to a stunning tungsten diamond rings that signifies a forever lasting bond.

When grading diamonds there are the four c's; color, cut, clarity, and carat (weight). Please reference the chart below. The diamonds we use are SI-SI2 clarity, G-H color, round brilliant cut, and either 6 point (.06 carat) for the solitaires, and 4 point (.04 carat) for the multiple stone set rings.

About Diamonds

Most diamonds are formed at high-pressure and high-temperature conditions, at depths of 140 to 190 kilometers (87 to 120 mi) in the Earth mantle. Carbon-containing minerals provide the carbon source, and the growth occurs over a period from 1 billion to 3.3 billion years. As the earth is aproximately 5.4 billion years old this equates to roughly 25% to 75% of the Earths existence. Diamonds are brought close to the Earth surface through deep volcanic eruptions by magma, which cools into igneous rocks.

n mineralogy, hardness commonly refers to a material's ability to penetrate softer materials. A hard material object will normally scratch a softer material object. Scratch hardness is usually measured on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. Pure diamond is the hardest natural mineral substance and will scratch any other natural material. Diamond is therefore used to cut other diamonds; in particular, higher-grade diamonds are used to cut lower-grade diamonds. Diamonds are also used to create, cut and shape Tungsten Rings.

Hardness vs Strength - tungsten carbide is very similar to diamonds, because Tungsten Carbide registers between a 8-9 on the Mohs hardness scale and a diamond is ten, these substances are very hard to scratch. The only things that can scratch tungsten carbide are objects and substances that are harder than 8-9, such as Topaz, Corundum, Diamonds, sapphire, ruby, and other very hard gems/substances. Tungsten is extremely scratch resistant, however like diamonds and other hard ceramics, tungsten carbide can crack, chip, or shatter if it is hit hard enough or enough pressure is applied.

There is a limit to the size of diamond you can get which is dependent on the Tungsten Ring.
